Inspirationally named... nakedbus!

nakedbus started operating intercity routes from NZ$1.70 including booking fees on New Zealand's North Island in September 2006 and expanded its route network to South Island at the end of January 2007.

The bus now serves 29 destinations on South Island and a further 49 destinations on North Island.

It's seriously impressive how quickly these guys have set up a nationwide low cost bus network. If it can be done this easily in New Zealand, there must be other countries where something similar could be set up and prove popular. Ireland, perhaps? Or Italy?

If you hear any more news on nakedbus, keep posting below.. I'm interested to see how this one develops.
